Its been another great couple of days in Salzburg Austria! They have all been marked by new connections. We met the lovely Chapman family. Glenn Chapman, his wife, and his son and daughter are originally from South Africa but came to Austria to do ministry work. They started Street Buddies in Salzburg in a bar district call the Rudolfskai. We'll be partnering with them to help with this neat work they've started. Everyone in the Chapman clan is delightful. Glenn, Laura, Daniel, and Keziah have made us feel so welcome here. We got invited to their house yesterday for our first grill party! There was meat galore and lots of tasty green salad. We also got a chance to go for a dip in a nearby river. We came out of it with quite a few more goosebumps than we expected but it was super fun.
Jonathan and I also overcame our first adventure with public transit. We decided to make a run to the grocery store called Lidl. After consulting a nifty bus app we thought we had our route squared away. A couple wrong buses later we finally made it to our desired destination and did our shopping. Two things that are different in Austrian food stores: no one bags your items for you, and bags are not free. Neither of these are a big deal but still make for an interesting new experience.
We will be participating in our first exposure to Street Buddies hopefully this evening. We also had the chance yesterday to visit the chapel in a nearby hospital/women's clinic. Micah and our other roommate Henk made a connection with a catholic priest who invited them to worship in this chapel. It is right nearby an abortion center and worshiping and praying there has been a really amazing opportunity to speak life into that place.
Thanks for reading and praying for us! We're so excited to see what God continues to do and reveal.
